Overview

Embark on an unforgettable weekend adventure with the Nairobi to Suswa SGR Getaway, a scenic rail journey that takes you out of the city and straight into the heart of the Great Rift Valley.

The Experience
The Journey: Board the Madaraka Express from the Nairobi Terminus as it winds its way toward the Rift Valley. Enjoy a comfortable ride featuring panoramic windows that showcase breathtaking landscapes.

Engineering Marvels: Transit through the impressive Ngong Hills tunnels—including the longest railway tunnel in the region—and glide across towering viaducts that offer sweeping views of the escarpments.

Destination Suswa: Arrive at the striking Suswa SGR Station, framed by volcanic backdrops. The trip serves as a gateway to explore the stunning Mount Suswa double caldera, underground lava caves, and local cultural experiences.

Terminus & Route Overview
Nairobi Terminus (Syokimau): The starting point of your trip, featuring modern amenities, seamless security clearance, and ticketing facilities.

The Route: Operates over the weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), making stops at intermediate stations like Ongata Rongai and Ngong before descending into the Rift Valley.

Suswa Sgr Station: A quiet, modern frontier station that places you right at the edge of Narok County's spectacular geological wonders.
